Welcome to Savannah Post

David Nelson

I am truly humbled, honored, and proud to serve as president of the Savannah Post for the 2023-2024 term and am excited to lead with great enthusiasm. I am committed to continue the excellent work achieved by my predecessors and based upon the strong foundation laid down by the excellent volunteers at the Post. I would like to recognize and say thank you to Gavin Carey, our outgoing president, for his leadership, mentorship, and dedication to the Post.

SAME’s vision is to “Serve our nation as the foremost integrator for leadership development and technical collaboration with A/E/C profession”. The Savannah Post includes local military engineers, uniformed service men and women, and A/E/C organizations. Our monthly meetings, Young Professionals events and

other post activities promote an atmosphere in which members are able to freely exchange information on current industry issues and trends. The opportunity to volunteer with such a talented and dedicated group of professionals who share a common passion and commitment to the mission and values of SAME is inspiring. The Savannah Post fosters greater collaboration among our members and with other organizations in our field. We will work together to promote the exchange of ideas and knowledge-sharing, and to build stronger partnerships that will benefit our industry as a whole.

As President of the Post, one of the top priorities will be to promote collaboration and open communication within our membership and to work together to share knowledge and experiences to enhance the Post and SAME. In addition, I will continue to support the Post’s history of encouraging diversity and inclusivity. By embracing diversity and inclusivity, we can foster a culture of innovation and creativity that will help us to tackle the challenges of the future. As professionals in our respective fields and members of SAME, we serve our nation as the foremost integrator for leadership development and technical collaboration within the A/E/C profession. I encourage each of you to get involved, share your ideas and perspectives, and collaborate with each other to make a meaningful impact. Please join a committee and be present as a volunteer!

I look forward to working with each of you to advance our shared goals and vision for the Post and thank you for trusting in me.

Respectfully,

David Nelson
