Reid Giggleman

Reid recently graduated from high school while enrolled dually at Trident Technical College for the past two years.  He has been home schooled for most of his academic career and is the son of Hugh and Holly Giggleman.  He will be attending Bob Jones University in the fall and will be studying Mechanical Engineering.  Reid has committed to play baseball at Bob Jones University and enjoys spending time hunting and fishing.   

Amanda Weaver

 Amanda is the current Vice President of the Georgia Southern student chapter of SAME. She grew up in a small town just south of Athens, GA with her parents, Michael and Elizabeth Weaver, and older brother. As a child, her first interest in extracurricular activity was ballet dancing. She enjoyed the movement, music, and self-expression. In her spare time, she would play with her brother’s toy cars and various other mechanical systems she could find. Time passed and she traded ballet for horse riding. This is where she found one of her true lifetime passions. It was at this time as well that she knew she wanted to be an engineer. In middle and high school, she picked up playing the clarinet as well as an additional extracurricular activity. She attended North Oconee high school and played in the marching band for the first 3 years. In her final year, she joined the robotics club and devoted the rest of her extra time to horsemanship.  After graduating high school, she chose to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Southern University and will continue into the Master’s program there as well. She has always had a military influence growing up as much of her family has or is currently serving in the military. This close connection gave her a sense of duty as responsibility to country and to the men and women who serve.

Haidyn Arnett

Haidyn Arnett is a recent graduate from Savannah Arts Academy and will be attending the Georgia Institute of Technology to study Computer Science. His parents, Laura and Chad Arnett, both work for the US Army Corps of Engineers. He is a member of several academic honor societies, has competed on the school science bowl team, and participated in the Savannah Science Seminar. Outside of academics, he has also been very involved in both school and community theatre as an actor. In his free time, Haidyn enjoys working on programming projects, cooking, and playing the piano.

Tyler Bentley

Architecture has become a passion for Tyler Bentley because he creates through sketches and drawing while applying solutions to environmental issues. Through the Fine Arts Center Architecture program, he discovered that he wants to become a landscape architect. His teachers describe his eagerness to participate in sustainability projects and desire to impact communities with his green designs. Tyler has taken challenging Honors and Advanced Placement classes as well as dual enrollment courses at Eastside High School. Tyler is active in his church youth group and an avid soccer player. He plans to major in landscape architecture at Clemson University. Tyler is the son of Stephen Bentley, Civil Engineer with the Army Corp of Engineers and Ashley Stewart.

Noah McGalliard

Noah recently attended Calvary Day School for two years and graduated with honors. He is the son of Todd & Rachel McGalliard. He also attended Bible Baptist School and was homeschooled for 3 years while his family was stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany. He participated on the Robotics team while abroad. While at Calvary he took part in the Engineering team. He also ran Cross Country and played Varsity Soccer. Noah plans to attend Georgia Southern and Georgia Tech to achieve his Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering.
