President's Message

The Kittyhawk Post is committed to keeping our society connected, engaged, and safe. We are evaluating each of our program events individually. Please monitor our website as we post upcoming events (https://www.same.org/kittyhawk).
The Society of American Military Engineers was founded 100 years ago in 1920. This year we celebrate 100 years of service to our nation, communities, engineering profession, future leaders, and service members. We look forward to celebrating the society’s centennial at our events throughout the year.
The Kittyhawk Post was Chartered in 1957, 63 years ago this November. We have a great Post, with a strong history of Government and Industry engagement, collaboration with other societies, and service to building future Architectural, Engineering, and Construction leaders.
This year marks the first year of the 2025 SAME Strategic Plan, which outlines five goals:
· Goal 1: Strengthen Industry-Government Engagement
· Goal 2: Build and Sustain Resilient Communities
· Goal 3: Develop Leaders for the Profession
· Goal 4: Enrich the STEM pipeline for the Nation
· Goal 5: Prepare Service members and Veterans for the A/E/C industry
The Kittyhawk Post will look to accomplish these goals through our monthly luncheons and special programs, STEM activities, and professional mentoring. We invite our members to bring their passion towards these goals, and to collaborate together as government and industry towards strengthening our nation and communities to overcome natural and manmade disasters, acts of terrorism and security challenges at home and abroad.
