SAME and TSA have formed a partnership at the national level. TSA represents an organization of over 250K students on a STEM track. The organization has 1,000s of Chapters at schools across the country. The students compete in highly competitive events at the state and national level. SAME has provided judges and speaker for the their events.

The upcoming state event in CO is an example of SAME working at the state/ school/ SAME Post level.

Support SAME/Fort Carson
Wounded Warrior Angel Tree Program! 

 

In support of the Warrior Transition Battalion and their families at Fort Carson, SAME has partnered with the Fort Carson Soldier and Family Assistance Center (SFAC) to collect gifts.  Bring general gifts to the October meeting or Angel names and "wish" lists are available beginning 1 November and collected during our November and December meetings for the children of the Fort Carson through our angel tree program.  

Please contact Cindy Lincicome (clincicome@betance.net) to receive the name, age and wish list of each child you would like to “adopt” for this program.  We will be collecting the wrapped gifts at the November and December SAME meetings or accepting drop off gifts at the offices of:

HB&A (102 E Moreno Ave, Colorado Springs, CO)

On April 22nd the SAME Pikes Peak Post hosted the 12th annual Engineers Banquet to welcome graduating seniors from the USAF Academy into the Civil Engineering community.  The event was attended by local SAME members from the Colorado Front Range and across the country, faculty members from the USAF Academy, and engineering cadets from the USAF Academy.  The banquet also included an address from Maj Gen Green, the Air Force Director of Civil Engineers, as the keynote speaker.  Also in attendance was the SAME Executive Director, BG (Ret) Joe Schroedel, who provided opening remarks and the SAME Pikes Peak Post President COL Bryan Truesdell who was the host for the evening. Other notable attendees welcoming the incoming Cadets included:  BG Armacost, MG (Ret) Byers, BG (Ret) Seely, BG (Ret) Swint, and other Air Force leadership. This annual event fostered fellowship amongst 116 attendees to include 37 USAF Academy cadets.
