Emergency Power Support to Puerto Rico Following Hurricane Maria The USACE Omaha District, under the Rapid Disaster Infrastructure (RDI) MATOC, awarded Weston a $35.1M task order to provide time-critical generator power in Puerto Rico as part of Disaster Recovery to Hurricane Maria. Weston will furnish and install two gas turbines that will generate 50 MW of power, providing emergency generation capacity to the Palo Seco Power Plant so that more customers can receive electricity until permanent grid repairs are made. Weston’s trusted relationship with USACE, and our natural disaster response experience, was key to the award.
