Jesus received the Ventura County Community Foundation Scholarship. He will be attending CalPoly San Luis Obispo and majoring in mechanical engineering. In high school, Jesus was involved in numerous engineering clubs, where his passion great larger. At CalPoly, he is looking forward to joining more clubs where he can work on exciting projects. Jesus spends his spare time hanging out with his family and working out. In the future, he hopes to work for a company such as Tesla, Boeing or Ford.

Vivek received the Ventura County Community Foundation Scholarship. He graduation from Santa Susana High School in Simi Valley, CA. He was active in his school's engineering programs and will moving forward with his interests by attending his dream school, Duke University in North Carolina this fall where he will pursue a degree in mechanical engineering. He hopes to chase his love for cars, specifically hydrogen-powered vehicles that he believes have the potential to surprise battery-electric cards in efficiency and hopes to someday demonstrate that with his own hydrogen-electric startup company. Vivek hopes to make the SAME community proud of his accomplishments in the future. Congrats Vivek!

The SAME Oxnard-Ventura Post held their June meeting in conjunction with the Engineering and Construction Camp that was occurring at the Naval Base Ventura County, Port Hueneme Base from June 24-28. Regional Vice President, Jeff Davis, and his son Trevor shared some thoughts with the campers. Outgoing Post President, CAPT Doug King provided a State of the Post address, members were recognized for their contributions for the past year, and the newly elected Officers and Directors were installed.

On February 7, 2019, Vivian Goo, SAME Oxnard Ventura Post, awarded the Port Hueneme High School 2019 Science Fair Best Exhibit to Ashlyn Stewart for her project on Lemon Battery Construction.
The Science Fair boasted over 90 student exhibits from 120 students in 9th and 10th grade. Categories ranged from human behavior and biochemistry to earth science and engineering. There were over 24 civilian and military judges at the Science Fair.

From August 2014 to February 2015, over 600 Seabees from U.S. Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) FOUR deployed to seven PACOM and two NORTHCOM sites for a period of six months. The battalion was tasked with 27 projects and 4 exercises while operating as forward deployed construction force to support Major Combat Operations (MCO) and Humanitarian Aid/Disaster Relief (HA/DR) Operations.
