About the Post

Mission, Vision, Values

The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), the premier professional military engineering association in the United States, unites architecture, engineering construction (A/E/C), facility management and environmental entities and individuals in the public and private sectors to prepare for—and overcome—natural and manmade disasters, and to improve security at home and abroad.

PEFE/PMP Exams Coordinate and provide proctors
Engineer Education Events Assist in coordination and participation (CE credit for SAME luncheon)
Engineering Camps Sponsor one High School student
Peninsula Engineers Conference Assist coordination and hosting
Foster inter-disciplinary, inter-agency, inter-service, international and public and private sector sharing of information, technology and business practices.
Post website & Facebook Page Update and keep current; establish and use a Post Facebook page
Post Communication Quarterly email updates to membership, publish quarterly newsletter and submit Post articles to TME, SAME National, Morning Calm and other relevant organizations
Expand Korean local national involvement Recruit Korean Military engineering community, and leverage local Sustaining Membership resources
Sustaining Members Encourage increased participation
Mentor ROK Engineers to develop SAME type organization Mentor ROK Engineers to develop SAME type organization
Develop and conduct high-interest programs that inspire membership growth and active involvement of Post members.
Increase attendance at monthly meetings/activities 10 times per year / follow streamer criteria
Increase individual members and sustaining member firms Bring a fellow Engineer to a Post activity; publicize new Uniform and DOD Civilian Member rates; coordinate with FED CDR to promote SAME membership and attendance by USACE personnel
Increase Enlisted involvement Utilitze Senior Leaders to promote and encourage Enlisted involvement
Increase SAME involvement in FED Engineer days at DoDDs schools Coordinate with FED personnel
Scholarships Program Award minimum of one scholarship to a graduating High School student Send a Enlisted Engineer to regional/national conference Send at least one High School student to Engineer camp
Recognize internal and external accomplishments of Post members.

Participate in the SAME Streamer Program Collect data quarterly and win all three overseas streamers
Conduct meetings with organizations that have similar goals/objectives Synchronize meetings with Society of Comptrollers. Host meetings in 2ID AO (North Chapter) and at Southern locations (Osan/USAG-H/USAG-D)
Recognize members at meetings by their professional status Prepare name tags for meetings that include POST title and professional status
