What is this conference?

This is the fourth event of the Dam & Levee Resilience series, a collaborative event between the Federal Government, State and Local Governments, Regional Agencies, and the private sector. Stakeholders of all kinds will be coming together in person to foster cross-sector collaboration regarding the risks, challenges, and policy updates facing our aging infrastructure. The safety and security of dams and levees is paramount; please join us as we discuss the concerns and challenges associated with maintaining these critical structures. This conference will include panel-led discussions, and will feature an exhibit hall, a USACE LA District Business Opportunity Open House (FREE Registration is here for the BOOH), Whittier Narrows DSMP site tour, ~10 hours of PDH, and meals provided along with happy hours and networking opportunities. 

Panel talks will start on Wednesday March 8, at 1pm to 5pm and on Thursday March 9 at 8am to 5pm. Topics of the panel-led discussions are as follows:

BOOH Details:

This year the BOOH has been incorporated into the Dam and Levee Conference to provide maximum value to our business community. It offers the unique opportunity to meet USACE LA District section leaders and learn more about upcoming Civil Works, Military, and Interagency projects. The BOOH will be open from 9am-12pm and 1pm-3pm on Wednesday March 8. Please use the link above to register directly with USACE LA District and then continue to complete the registration for SAME DLR.

Whittier Narrows DSMP Tour Details:

Limited seats are available and will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. At this time, we must limit the tour to one attendee per company. Two session of tours will be provided; the first departing the venue at 9am and the second departing at 1pm on Wednesday March 8. Closed-toe shoes are required. No additional PPE is necessary. The tour will take 2 hours via passenger vans, it will include audio commentary by USACE, a brief presentation about the upcoming DSMP, and time for Q&A following the tour.

Industry Government / Universities:

We are providing free exhibit space to industry government and universities on a first-come, first-serve basis while space is available. Please email same4thdlrevent@gmail.com to express interest. Individual registration is still required for attendees.

Student volunteers:

We are providing a limited number of small cash stipends to students that are interested in attending this conference, as well as free registration, in return for 4 hours of volunteering to monitoring badges at the doors or similar tasks. For more information, please email same4thdlrevent@gmail.com to express interest. Applicants will be asked to submit a short one-page essay responding to the following questions:

1) How does your course work support dam and levee resilience?

2) What do you hope to gain from this conference?
